Coming home after a big trip is its own kind of travel experience.
The post-trip low is real. The way everything at home looks smaller than when you left. The two days where you're half here, half there.
It used to unsettle me. Now I think of it as the cost of going, and I pay it gladly.
The alternative is staying. And staying, for me, would be the harder thing.
