June is done. July starts tomorrow.
Rest if you need to. Reset if you have to. But don't stop.

6 months done.
Every shoot. Every casting. Every brief you worked hard to understand and deliver on.
The career you're building isn't fully visible yet. But it's visible in every small decision you made to show up, be professional, and keep going.
That's the work. It counts even before anyone sees it.
What are you most proud of from the first half of this year?

Celebrate the small wins. Even the ones that don't photograph.
The casting you nailed even if you didn't get the job. The self-tape where you finally felt like yourself on camera. The shoot where you found the shot in the first 20 minutes.
The big moments are made of small ones. Most of the small ones happen before anyone is watching.
What's a small win from this week? Drop it below. 🙌 👇

Consistency in this industry isn't just about being booked consistently.
It's about consistently showing up as the same professional, whether the job is a major campaign or a test shoot. Whether the photographer is established or just starting out.
Your consistency of character is more visible than you think. It builds a reputation that works for you even when you're not in the room.
What does consistency mean to you in your career?

How to document your work in a way that builds your career over time.
1. Keep a folder of every shoot — the brief, the selects, the final images. You'll use all of it eventually.
2. Track which types of work produce your strongest images. That pattern tells you where to focus.
3. Build a professional contact list from every shoot: photographer, stylist, MUA, creative director.
The career you're building is documented in more than your portfolio. It's in who you've worked with and what you've learned from them.
How do you keep track of your professional growth?

Monthly career review — how I actually do mine.
How many bookings this month? What types of work? What was I most proud of?
What did I say no to — and do I feel good about that decision?
What relationship did I build or deepen this month?
What do I want more of next month, and what would I do differently?
The career you want is built on honest reviews of the career you're already building.
What's one thing you'd change about how last month went? 👇

Saturday energy on set is its own thing.
Everyone's a little looser. A little less formal. The brief allows a little more room.
Some of my best work has happened on Saturday shoots. Not because the work is different, because I am.
Bring that Saturday energy to every shoot. The one where you're not performing the job. you're doing it.

Body Confidence on Camera: the tip that actually moves the needle.
Stop trying to look different. Start trying to look present.
The camera doesn't capture how you look, it captures how you feel about how you look. That distinction is everything.
The most striking images I've been part of weren't taken when I was at my 'best' by any external standard. They were taken when I forgot to think about what I looked like.
How do you get out of your own way in front of the camera? 👇

Not being 'the right fit' for a brief is not a reflection of your ability. It's a reflection of the brief.
I've had years of experience, a strong portfolio, and a solid reputation and still been told I wasn't quite right for something.
That's the job. The right-fit conversation has nothing to do with your worth and everything to do with a document someone wrote before you walked in.
Release it. The next brief was written for you.
How do you shake off a 'not quite right'?

Self-tape and digital casting tips because this is how so much of the industry works now.
Natural light, facing the window. Never backlit.
Clean, simple background. Nothing competing with you.
Frame from the waist up unless directed otherwise.
State your name, agency if applicable, and height clearly at the start.
The self-tape is your casting director's first impression. It should feel like a room you've prepared to walk into.
What's your self-tape setup? 👇
