Some Saturdays don't need a plan.
Just a walk to JBR, a beautiful sunset over the sea, dinner with a good company, a movie, and slow walk home under the city lights.
I've learned that some of the best memories aren't made on a big adventures. They're created in ordinary moments shared with the right people.

Some places became more than destinations.
One evening, feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what came next, I found myself at JBR Beach. No plans. No agenda. Just the sound of the waves , warm sand beneath my feet, and enough quite to gather my thoughts.
Sometimes we travel to discover new places. Other times, we simply need a place that lets us breathe.

A cup of Hot Chocolate at City Walk
There are places you visit because they're beautiful, there are places you return to because they become a tradition.
For me , that's City Walk.
Whenever I'm craving a good hot chocolate, I usually end up at SAID DAL 1993.
During Eid and Christmas, the whole area feels different - music, lights and people enjoying their evening make it one of my second favourite places to walk around.
Sometimes all you need is a warm drink and a beautiful evening.

Marina Evenings.
Some places never get old.
One of my favourite ways to spend an evening is Dinner overlooking the water, followed by an evening walk along Dubai Marina. There is something calming about watching the boats pass by while the city lights slowly come alive.
If you're visiting the best time to enjoy Marina outdoors is between September and April. During summer it's much hotter, but some mornings or evenings are still pleasant enough for a walk.
Whether it's coffee, dinner or simply watching the world go by, Marina is still my favourite corner of Dubai.

The City Thay Raised Me ๐ฆ๐ช
Before Dubai become home, Abu Dhabi wasn't the city that shaped me.
I spent seven years there, building my career, meeting incredible people, and creating memories I'll always carry with me.
From evening walks along the Corniche to weekends at Yas Island, Reem Island and Saadiyat Beach, Abu Dhabi taught me to appreciate both the excitement or the city life and the peace that comes with watching the sunset by the water.
One thing I've learned is that sometimes it's not the places that becomes unforgettable - it's the people you meet there. Good company can turn an ordinary places into a memory you'll cherish for years.
For me, Abu Dhabi will always be more than a city.
It was the place where I grew.

I Thought I Knew Dubai
When people hear that I've lived in the UAE for ten years, they often assume I've always known Dubai.
The truth isโฆ I didn't.
I arrived in Dubai from Rwanda in 2015, full of excitement and curiosity. But before I had the chance to explore the city, I accepted a job in Abu Dhabi and moved almost immediately.
For the next seven years, Abu Dhabi became my home. It was where I built my career, learned to live independently, and created a life far from the one I had left behind.
Then, during the COVID period, life slowed down.
I took a short break and spent some time in Dubai.
That decision changed more than I expected.
It was during that time I met someone who would become my best friend. Through our conversations, weekend walks, and little adventures, I began discovering a side of Dubai I had never really know.
I felt like I was seeing the city for the first time.
A year later, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life . I left my job in Abu Dhabi, moved to Dubai. And started a new chapter.
Three years later, I'm still discovering new places.
And somewhere among all those discoveries, one places quietly became my favourite.
But that's a story for another page of the Juliet's Journal. ๐โจ

The Place We Keep Coming Back To
Some places impress you once.
Others quietly become part of your story.
For me, that places is Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort in Fujairah.
Whenever life in Dubai feels a little too busy, my friend and I find ourselves making the same drive, checking into the same hotel, and smiling because it already feels familiar.
It's become our little escape.
I love waking up to the sound of the waves, listening to birds singing in the morning, walking barefoot on the beach, and watching the mountains meet the sea.
There's something about this place that slows everything down.
No rush.
No noise.
Just peace.
It's one of those places that reminds me that sometimes the best journeys aren't about going far awayโฆ.
They're about returning to the places that make you feel at home.
Have you ever found a place you keep going back to?
The next page is waitingโฆ

Welcome to Juliet's Journal ๐๐
Home isn't always just one place.
I'm Rwandan, but over the last decade I've built a life in the UAE - a place that has become home in it's own way. Every time I return to Rwanda to be with my family, I discover something new: a place I never knew, story I had never heard, or a reminder of what makes home so special.
Some journeys take me back to my roots. Others lead me somewhere completely new.
Juliet's Journal is where I collect those moments.
Here you'll find stores from places I've explored, honest experiences, memorable meals, hidden gems, and the little details that often makes a destination unforgettable. This isn't about ticking countries off a list, it's about the places that leaves a mark on us and the stories we bring home.
If you enjoy discovering the world one story at a time, you're in the right place.
